Ameesha Patel is dealing with some ‘fun stress’ over fashion, music and film locations

Ameesha Patel is in talks with international fashion houses for a tie-up to provide high fashion clothes and accessories for her next two films. “We are spending long hours with designers and design teams to chalk out a slick look for the characters in my films,” says Ameesha. This wardrobe and the accessories will then be auctioned online post the shoot and the funds raised will go to charity.

While in London, the actress is busy scouting for locations for her film. Along with her business partner Kuunal Goomer, Ameesha is hunting for scenic locales in Milan, Scotland and other European hotspots. “London has been my second home since childhood. Since the UK is going through a recession, this is a good time to invest in property here. I have already decided on an apartment, which will be used for shoots. I am excited about my investment in real estate,” she adds.

Talking about the progress on her productions with David Dhawan and Priyadarshan, she says, “Shooting will begin in November.” She will play the lead in both films, “And since music is the soul of any good film, we have tied up with Bhushan Kumar of T-Series. The film’s promotion will be done on a larger than-life scale and will be handled by Bhushanji.”

Ameesha Patel will be seen in her sexiest avatar yet in Ramesh Taurani’s Race 2, the sequel to 2008’s runaway hit. The film’s cast includes Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, Sonakshi Sinha and Anil Kapoor. The glam girl talks about her role in the sequel.

How does it feel to be part of a successful franchise like Race? It feels great. Race 2 is a big film to be associated with. This year has been amazing for me. I’ve turned producer and I’m back to working with Abbas-Mustan. I am also thrilled to be working with Saif Ali Khan after Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic.

How did this role come to you? I have worked with Abbas-Mustan and Ramesh Taurani before. Since I have a great working relationship with the entire team, it was something I accepted in a heartbeat.

You are sharing screen space with Deepika and Sonakshi. Expecting any catfights? Not at all. We get along like a house on fire. I am very friendly with Sonakshi as I have met her at Salman Khan’s place a couple of times. Deepika is someone I am looking forward to working with. We will have a great time and it’s a superb star cast. I will be sharing most of my scenes with the girls, so there’s a lot of excitement.

Any apprehensions about wearing a bikini? Not at all. I trust Abbas-Mustan. This film is racier, sexier and steamier than the first. Even during Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic, I was thrilled with the response I got for the Lazy Lamhe song.

The actress’ production house has signed on Priyadarshan as the second director on board

Reviving family entertainment films and bringing back ‘fun’ days is what Ameesha Patel’s production house strives to extend to the audience. And after announcing David Dhawan as the first director, Priyadarshan has been chosen as the second director on board for another project.

Naturally, Ameesha and her business partner Kuunal Goomer are ecstatic about making two films, both of which will go on floors by the year end, directed by two of the most talented directors in India.

“I will play the lead in both these films. With a family-based storyline, good music and directors like David and Priyan working on them, the films are bound to connect with the 6-80 years age group,” promises Ameesha.

Incidentally, Patel and Priyan had decided to work together after Bhool Bhulaiyaa which went on to become a hit. Ameesha was approached for Billu but the role finally went to Lara Dutta, as Priyan felt Ameesha looked too young to play a mother of two kids opposite Irrfan Khan and Shah Rukh Khan. Now, the team is back together and Priyan has planned a big ensemble cast for the new film.
