On Sunday, Vivek Oberoi flew to Delhi with social activist Sameer Zaveri to motivate Mehjabeen who lost both her legs in a train accident in Delhi almost two months ago.
A friend of Vivek says, “Vivek wanted to tell Mehjabeen that one doesn’t stop living come what may and that there are many others like her. Sameer Zaveri, who also lost both his legs in a train accident in Mumbai in 1989, is one such example.”
Mehjabeen met with an unfortunate accident in Delhi on March 26 this year.
She was waiting to board a train but as it was approaching, she was accidentally pushed by a man who was running on the platform. She fell on the tracks and the train ran over her legs.

Talking about Vivek’s visit, Mehjabeen says, “I was promised Endolite feet of the best quality. But the feet I was getting weren’t of good quality.
Vivek bhaiyya was with me for more than three hours. He said he will help me in every possible way. Meeting Sameer too increased my confidence.”
Mugdha Godse ‘rams into car, tries to flee’

Film actress Mugdha Godse on Wednesday allegedly smashed her car into the car of a bank executive near Kokilaben Ambani Hospital in Versova.
Incidentally, she tried to run away. The executive, Madhukar Lahkar, 32, was going to his Lokhandwala residence in his Honda Civic when the accident took place. Lahkar chased Godse’s car and stopped her.
Lahkar’s wife Geetanjali alleged that instead of apologising, the actress said, “I do not talk to people like you. You should talk to my personal assistant.”
The Versova police said the incident occurred around 10 pm. “I was returning from the airport after receiving my wife. I was trying to take a left turn when suddenly a Skoda rammed into the front left of my car. Before I could gather myself, the driver tried to speed away. I chased the car for about 200 metres, overtook it and forced the car to stop. I saw Godse at the wheel,” Lahkar said.
The actress allegedly did not roll down her window at first, but when the Lahkar couple insisted, a visibly shaken Godse opened the door and shouted, “Main keede makodo se baat nahi karti. Talk to my PA.” It was then that the Lahkar couple called the police control room. The police reached the spot within five minutes and took Godse and the couple to Versova Police Station.
At the time of going to press, the two parties were still trying to resolve the matter. API S A Patel said, “It was not a major accident. Both Godse and the Lahkars are still here. No complaint has been filed as yet.”

Dimple in trauma, yet again

45 days after Simple’s death, Dimple’s brother Munna is involved in a major accident which leaves him in a coma

Dimple’s younger brother Suhail (fondly known as Munna) met with a terrible car accident just before Christmas. Munna was in a car with a friend and the impact of the accident was tremendous. Both have been admitted to a suburban hospital and Munna has slipped into a coma. The car rammed into a tree and it has been damaged beyond repair.
The car is parked outside Juhu Police Station with only its bumper intact. Additional Commissioner, West Region, Amitabh Gupta confirms the news of the accident, “Yes, Suhail Kapadia was involved in the accident.”
A source provides additional details, “The car was speeding at night near Irla Masjid. They crashed into and almost climbed a tree in the middle of the road. The safety features of the car ensured that they were relatively unharmed, but the car has been damaged tremendously. But their legs were injured badly.”
The day that Dimple heard the news, she was shattered. She was shooting for Nikhil Advani’s Patiala House and the shoot had to be called off for the day.
Recently, Dimple lost her sister, Simple, and the accident has sent her into a state of shock. People who have visited her at the hospital say that nothing seems to register as she cares for Munna at the hospital. Munna is third in the line of four siblings and Dimple cares for him almost like a mother. Dimple, having lost two siblings including youngest sister Reema, is terrified of losing her brother. We sincerely hope Munna comes out of the coma.
Dimple was supposed to have been in Goa for the New Year with daughter Twinkle and her husband Akshay Kumar. Needless to say, those plans stand cancelled.

Salman gets slapped?!

He may be notorious as the bad boy of Bollywood but Salman Khan is anything but disrespectful toward women. How else would one explain his unfazed demeanor despite being provoked to the extent of being slapped by a girl? The shocking incident took place during a recent private party held in Delhi where a rich builder’s high-spirited daughter Monika allegedly barged into Salman’s private party and slapped him.
According to sources, she also ended up abusing Sushmita Sen, Sohail Khan and other guests who were present at the party. Ignoring the hullaballoo, the actor kept his cool and asked the security guards to show a sozzled Monika the way out.
A source from the party says, “After the fashion show by Sanjana Jon, a private party was being held at a five-star hotel in Delhi. Present there were Salman, Sohail Khan, Sushmita Sen, her brother Rajiv Sen, Raima and Riya Sen, Amaan and Ayaan Ali Khan, Shibani Kashyap, boxing champ Vijender Singh, a few Bollywood biggies and prominent politicos. The party, which went on till the wee hours of morning, was not without its fair share of drama. A sloshed Monika accompanied by a male friend first tried to forcefully enter the party venue. She was too loud and completely out of control because of her inebriated state. Sohail Khan, who was standing close to the entrance, saw the hungama and asked the security guards not to let Monika in.”

“Meanwhile, Salman heard the commotion and walked to where Monika was making a fuss. She was misbehaving and started bragging about her connections and abused Sushmita Sen. When Salman very politely asked the girl to leave, she suddenly slapped the actor,” adds the source.
A crowd gathered and the guards whisked away the girl. “Known for his infamous temper, surprisingly, Salman did not retaliate even once. He kept his cool and went inside with Sohail after the girl was taken away,” says the source.
Despite repeated attempts at trying to talk to Monika’s friend, he said he was busy with somebody’s marriage and would be free to talk only after 15 days.

Aditi Gowitrikar’s popularity has seen a major upheaval since she entered the third season of the reality show Bigg Boss.
This might work wonders for her career, but has definitely put event organiser Musha M Mollick in a tight spot. Aditi signed as a brand ambassador for the event company, The Red Star Network, for a local beauty pageant show. She was paid Rs 5 lakh for it. However, the actress got herself trapped in the reality show, resulting in a lot of alterations in the contest.
The contest, which was initially scheduled for November 8, is now postponed to November 17, solely because of Aditi’s absence. The organisers have suffered huge monetary losses due to this change of plan. The furious organiser Musha tells us, “We paid Aditi Rs 5 lakh as the signing amount, but she joined a reality show, leaving us in a lurch. Her unavailability and non-professionalism has resulted in the event’s sponsors and participants labelling me as a fraud. Later, I decided to go ahead without her. I had no other option.”
The contest has 24 models vying for the title and has a mix of industry people as judges and guests. Singer Anoop Jalota, musician Monty Sharma, actresses Preeti Jhangiani, Aditi Sharma and comedian Navin Prabhakar are among the many who are on the list.
The channel that airs the reality show Aditi is participating in did not revert to our messages asking for Aditi or their take on the story.
Lyricist moves court against Pritish Nandy

Lyricist Prashant Vasl has filed a complaint against PNC in the court for not being given credit for a song in Meerabai Not Out

The Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Borivli, has issued an order to conduct an inquiry against Pritish Nandy Communications Ltd (PNC). Lyricist Prashant Krishna Gaur Vasl had filed a plea against PNC and six others. Vasl has filed a complaint alleging that PNC and its employees – Bobbie Ghosh (Chief Operating Officer), Ishita Pritish Nandy (Vice President, Creative Services), Yatender Verma (Vice President Finance), music composer Sandesh Shandilya and Sony BMG Music Entertainment Pvt Ltd have committed punishable offences under section 420, 463, 464, 465, 467, 468, 471, r/w 34 of the IPC and the under section 63 of the Copyright Act 1957. According to Vasl, PNC had asked him to write lyrics for their film Meerabai Not Out in January 2007. Sandesh Shandilya, who is also accused, had assured Vasl that his name would appear first in the music credits. Since Vasl was assured ample publicity, he did not demand any monetary compensation. To Vasl’s dismay, his name did not appear anywhere in the credits. Worse still, although Vasl had not given any NOC for using the song, the accused forged the NOC format while finalising the deal with Sony BMG Music Entertainment. Vasl said, “Earlier, I had filed a complaint with the Film Writers’ Association and the Charkop police station, but so far, no action has been taken against the accused. Now the honourable court has issued an order to inquire into the matter.” “After the order was issued, I have received threats on my Facebook account by Rangita Nandy. My car was also damaged by unknown people,” claimed Vasl. The order has been forwarded to the Charkop police station to inquire under section 202 Cr.P.C. and to submit report on or before August 7, 2009. Ram Kamal Mukherjee, Vice President of PNC, said, “I have no idea about the court order. If you are talking about Vasl, his problem is not with PNC but with music director Sandesh Shandilya. Perhaps, Sandesh had signed on the NOC. We have all the required documents to prove that. And we have given Vasl enough publicity.” |
