Ranbir Kapoor was recently shooting for his film Rockstar in Pahalgam. And the actor’s snowmobile skidded on the snow-covered road, smashing into the side barrier.
Thankfully, the barrier was strong enough, or perhaps it was sheer luck that the young Kapoor escaped the crevice below.
Says an eyewitness, “Everyone in the unit was stunned. When Ranbir’s snowmobile skidded out of control. It was rather sudden and unexpected.
Ranbir wasn’t doing a stunt or anything. It was just a normal sequence but with the ice so treacherous one can never know what can happen.”
“Though Imtiaz Ali, the director wanted to cancel the shoot, Ranbir picked himself up and continued with the shot.
Ranbir needed to finish the shooting in Kashmir because he had to start on Barfee/Burfi/Barfi in Mumbai,” adds the source.

Shiney Ahuja has been sentenced to seven years of rigorous imprisonment, thereby drawing to a close a two-year long court battle after he was accused of raping his domestic help.
Celina Jaitly was in a state of shock after hearing the verdict. She said, “It’s shocking. I don’t know if his lawyer gets to reappeal. My heart reaches out to his family. What they must be going through. It just shows one impulsive moment can ruin one’s life. Many rapists and criminals roam free. I feel Shiney paid for being a celebrity.”
Soha Ali Khan who worked with Shiney in Khoya Khoya Chand and the unreleased Accident expressed shock on being told about the verdict. “I am shocked. I can’t even begin to imagine what he and his family must be going through. I don’t know the actual facts. So I can only pray for them to have inner strength. I wish them well.”
Sudhir Mishra who had introduced Shiney to the Hindi cinema in Hazaaron Khawishein Aisi and later gave Shiney his career’s best role in Khoya Khoya Chand, said, “I really shouldn’t be commenting. What can I say? I am numbed. But we can’t get emotional about this. The verdict of the court is unquestionable and I completely believe in it. If the court has found Shiney guilty so be it. It is still unbelievable what has happened to him. I can’t even begin to think what went on in his head. Or how he might do what he is supposed to have done. Because what he More >
The versatile Soha Ali Khan talks about the variety of roles she is doing in 2011
Anjali Muthanna (BOMBAY TIMES; March 26, 2011) She hasn’t been seen on the big screen since the 2009 release Tum Mile, but that doesn’t mean Soha Ali Khan has taken a cinematic hiatus. Her last release was supposed to be Tera Kya Hoga Johny, which has been delayed for more than a year. However, she’s been keeping herself busy shooting for films in “a whole gamut of genres” that she hopes will all release this year. Her next film, Life Goes On…, is very much a family affair and not just because it is a family drama. “This is the first time I’ve worked with my mother (Sharmila Tagore) and perhaps the only time I’ll work with her because she keeps threatening to retire. But I don’t take her seriously in that regard,” Soha tells. The film, which is set in London and is about how an Indian family comes to terms with the loss of the mother (played by Sharmila), will see Soha play a character very much like herself. “It is just me with a British accent. Of course, the fact that my mother plays my mother makes it all the more real. My character, who’s the youngest of three siblings, is also someone who has been very protected and molly-coddled by her father and who is always keen to make her parents proud. She’s very much like me — I have a big desire to make my father proud and it is crippling to me to disappoint him,” explains Soha.
Right now, Soha is working More >
It was a close call for filmmaker-turned-actor Rituparno Ghosh.
Recently, while shooting for a screen adaptation of Rabindranath Tagore’s Chitrangada in Kolkata, Rituparno was seriously injured when a camera fell straight on his forehead. Thankfully, he was shooting in a real hospital with real doctors.
A source explains what transpired, “It was a sequence showing Rituda being wheeled into the operation theatre.
Since Rituda is, for the first time, simultaneously directing and playing the lead, he was on the stretcher giving his shot and instructing the cameraman to take close-ups of his face.
This was when the camera fell on his forehead. There was blood all over his face.”
Rituparno was knocked unconscious.
But after a CT-scan, several tests and some stitches, he was declared out of danger.
On Friday night, the actress’s red top kept slipping at a music award function. But things did not get out of hand…
Sonal Chawla (MUMBAI MIRROR; March 14, 2011)
Wardrobe malfunctions happen all the time these days; Katrina Kaif nearly encountered one on Friday night at a music award function.
The incident in question happened on stage when Katrina was grooving with a bunch of girls. Her top slipped off on more than occasion.
She managed to ward off a half-monty, even as her outfit, which was tight at the shoulder during the start (see pic 1) began to steadily fail her (See pic 2, 3).
A source from the event said, “Clothes to be worn at the event are made in a very short period of time.
Although stars do have dress trials and Katrina had one too, it was a mere accident of her strap giving way. (See pic 2,3) Wearing an outfit and standing is different from wearing an outfit and performing.
So one assumes when she tried it, it was perfect, but while the body parts were in motion, the strap seemed to slip off at various occasions.
Being a regular at stage shows Katrina managed it and did not cause any kind of embarrassment to herself.”
Guess in the future she will be more careful before dressing up for a stage act. We assume that she was in some tearing hurry before she donned the red top.
While shooting for a stunt scene for Force on two moving trains, the actor lost his balance, crash landed on his back
Kunal M Shah (MUMBAI MIRROR; March 10, 2011)
John Abraham is the macho guy of Bollywood. With a sturdy and well worked out body, he can surely be the best pick for a super hero film.
But even he is not infallible. A couple of days ago, the actor had a bad fall while shooting for a stunt scene for Vipul Shah’s production, Force.
The stunt required him to jump from one moving goods train to another. Instead of landing on his feet he lost his balance and fell on his back over a heap of stones.
The actor was severely injured and suffered as many as 40 injury marks on his back. Despite being given an immediate medical attention, John was visibly in discomfort. But the actor braved and finished the shot he was required to.
In December last year too, again while he was shooting for Force, John had a ligament tear and was in excruciating pain.
A source who was present on the sets while John met with the accident, says, “John seems to be getting injured time and again.
Earlier he was injured at Filmcity and now at the Jogeshwari yard. He had a bad fall and his entire back was injured badly and there were injury marks.”
Producer Vipul Shah said, “We were shooting a scene with two moving goods trains. John had to jump from one to another.
Although all the precautions were taken, this is something that can never be controlled. He was More >
The Actor Nawab Shah, known for his character roles in TV serials and films, met with a serious car accident at the Jim Corbett National Park in Uttaranchal.
His car was badly damaged but he miraculously survived the accident. A friend of Shah’s said, “He took a break from work to go there.
While returning on Saturday night, his car got smashed but he escaped with just a fracture. He was rushed to a local hospital and then transferred to a hospital in Delhi.
An iron rod has now been surgically put in his leg.” Neither Nawab nor his family members could be reached for comment, as he is in the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital.
The actor will be seen in a negative role in Don 2 and Bodyguard. We wish he recovers soon to take on the challenge.
Acting is not a bed of roses; it has its share of hardships too. On Saturday afternoon, while shooting at a suburban college for Jackky Bhagnani’s relaunch vehicle F.A.L.T.U, Boman Irani accidentally bumped into a glass separation and hurt his head.
Producer Vashu Bhangnani said, “We were sitting down to eat lunch. Boman walked into the clear glass seperator and hurt himself. However, he still completed the shoot.”
He was feeling drowsy after taking heavy antibiotics. The pain however worsened but Boman put up a brave front and left the location only after finishing his bit.
Despite repeated text messages, Boman remained unavailable for comment

Veteran actor Kulbhushan Kharbanda is seriously injured.
Kharbanda had an accident while shooting for Raja Bundela’s film, Son of Flower. The actor fell from a horse and injured his leg with multiple fractures.Kulbhushan Kharbanda
The incident happened around a fortnight ago. Kharbanda was immediately rushed to a hospital. He is now bedridden and will be out of action for nearly three months.
When contacted, Raja Bundela, the director of the film said, “We were shooting at Panna in MP when Kulji fell off the horse. I am extremely sad that he got injured during my shooting.
While riding a horse, the actor got a bit too excited and had a fall. A horseshoe injured him. We normally take all the precautions but these things happen and no one has control over such mishaps and accidents.”
When contacted, a convalescing Karbanda said, “The doctor has advised me to take rest. I don’t know when I will be fit again, but it is a long process.
It might take at least three months. I have two fractures and right now, I can’t shoot, as I can’t even get up from my bed. The doctor will decide as to when I might be able to get back on my feet.”
We wish him a speedy recovery.
While shooting for Gangs Of Wasseypur, Sohil Shah accidentally drove off a bridge and suffered a haemorrhage
Mauli Singh (MUMBAI MIRROR; December 24, 2010)
After the industry lost Sourabh Usha Narang, Pankaj Advani and Maneesh Acharya, there has been another tragedy. Sohil Shah, Anurag Kashyap’s chief Assistant Director on Gangs Of Wasseypur died in a freak accident during the shoot of the film in Banaras yesterday.
The young filmmaker from Bombay had worked on Prince, Lafangey Parindey and a TV series Amazing Race.
A source from the crew confirms, “Yes the unfortunate incident happened early this morning. The entire unit is in shock; we are trying to fly his family to Banaras.”Sohil Shah
The crewmember continues, “We were filming a simple routine sunrise shot. A jeep was also shown in the frame, which Sohil was driving. Though production people gave him a driver he chose to drive it himself. While passing through a bridge he saw two people coming in his direction.
In order to save them he took a sharp turn and the jeep fell off the bridge. Sohil hit his ear against a metal rod and suffered an instant haemorrhage. Anurag was also there with the rest of the crew. They rushed Sohil to the hospital, but he passed away on the way there.”
Describing the boy another crewmember adds, “He was a very quiet and professional guy. His body is in the hospital and I think arrangements are being made to take him to Bombay.”
