BT takes you behind-the-scenes of Bol Bachchan’s highly anticipated title track

The one thing common between Rohit Shetty’s five blockbusters — the three Golmaal films, All The Best and Singham — is opulence. The filmmaker, who doesn’t pull any punches, also believes in packing his cinema with larger-than-life spectacles. Like Ajay Devgn says, “Rohit doesn’t give his audience a chance to blink. His movies are jampacked with emotions, laughs, action and superstars. It’s a big-ticket affair always.”

The shoot of the Bol Bachchan title track is said to have cost the producers a bomb, and was an opulent affair with around 100 dancers (all girls), and of course, three of Bollywood’s most popular actors on set, including Amitabh and Abhishek Bachchan and Devgn.

Himesh Reshammiya composed the zany track sung by the Big B, Abhishek and for the very first time, Ajay. And yesteryear choreographer couple Chinni Prakash and his wife Rekha were brought in to give the song a feel of retro songs.

The dress dilemma Stylist Navin Shetty (now a Shetty regular, having done four films with him) says Rohit and he decided to give the “boys” Indian clothes because the title track Bol Bachchan has a dishy tone and lent itself better to Indian clothes. “We decided to dress Amitji in dual tones, and give identical costumes in solid colours to Ajay and Abhishek,” he explains.
