Check out Randeep Hooda as Charles Sobhraj

DNA (May 14, 2013)

Here’s Randeep Hooda’s look from Bad where he plays Charles Sobhraj. Says the director Prawaal Raman, “It is meant to be a party sequence in Paris. Those two girls Talia and Bianca are part of Sobhraj’s guest lust… I do mean lust.” Apparently Randeep’s global criminal act would require him to do a lot of the naughty stuff in and out of bed. “Nothing sleazy or unaesthetic, though,” promises the director.

The cast and crew of Imtiaz Ali’s Highway have been shooting for the last three days in a dense forest about 2km away from Aru Valley to the north of Pahalgam.

The scene in question is an encounter where leading man Randeep Hooda gets hurt and his love interest Alia Bhatt rushes to the rescue.

Being filmed in what is known as the Brian Gujar Basti which is home to the shepherd community in the region, the track required at least 50 personnel of the Jammu & Kashmir Police to pitch in.

It’s been a while now since Imtiaz and his team have been shooting Highway across the length and breadth of the country. They are currently scouting the Northern states.

Check out Shruti Haasan at her sizzling best on Maxim cover

Shruti Haasan has caught a lot of people unaware with her hot and sultry photoshoot for the May issue of Maxim magazine.

The 27-year-old girl poses in bustier, body stockings, bras, knickers and other eye-grabbing lingerie for the photoshoot.

“Unexpected Heat Wave: Shruti Haasan – The Sultry Siren Like You’ve Never Seen Her Before,” reads the punchline on the cover and we can’t but nod our head in agreement. The girl indeed looks hot, what with those lush tresses, beautiful face with sensuous expression.

This is Shruti Haasan’s first hot photoshoot for any magazine. So far the girl shunned anything as bold as this, but now has apparently given in to the mantra: If you’ve got it, flaunt it.

On the Bollywood front, the girl’s looking ahead to end her two-year sabbatical with the upcoming film Ramaiya Vastavaiya, set to release in July. The film’s Telugu version, Ramayya Vasthavayya has her pairing with Junior NTR.

Ahead, catch more images from Shruti Haasan’s hot and sultry photoshoot.

Check out Priyanka Chopra’s hot item song in Zanjeer 2.0

Ram Charan dropped from the item song, now 100 (yes, one hundred!) male dancers will be seen grooving alongside the actress

Subhash K Jha (DNA; May 8, 2013)

The impact of Priyanka Chopra’s first item song in Shootout At Wadala was diluted, thanks to Sunny Leone. Moving on, she’s not taking any risks. She is hell-bent on getting her song in Zanjeer right. We hear the lyrics by Shabbir Ahmed had to go for a second round of refurbishment.

Says an insider from the project, “Initially Priyanka was very sure she wanted non-suggestive lyrics and movements. But then the words came out a little flat. So the lyrics had to be livened-up without losing their innocuousness. We finally zeroed in on these lines Mumbai Na Dilliwallon Ki, Pinky Hai Dilwaalon Ki. Priyanka felt this was saucy but not suggestive. And we went with that. No one is allowed to call it an ‘item song’ because Priyanka wanted the number to be free from implications of commodifying women. It is called a special song.”

We hear the song, which was shot over the last four days in Mumbai last week, has been given an added boost. Keeping it vulgarity-free, Priyanka wanted, in the words of the source, the lyrics and movements to be “free of flab but nonetheless fab”. The brief during the shooting of the song to choreographer Ganesh Acharya was to make it bigger, bouncier, brighter than Katrina’s Chikni Chameli. But without the pelvic thrusts, heaves and aggressive gyrations.

A tall order. The format of Priyanka’s ‘special More >

MUMBAI MIRROR (May 8, 2013)

While he continues to count among the country’s most celebrated icons, Amitabh Bachchan’s career has seen more than its fair share of twists and turns.

One such crossroad was in 1995 when the actor turned corporate with Amitabh Bachchan Corporation Ltd (ABCL), a company modelled on the lines of Hollywood studios, which would dabble in all aspects of entertainment like film production, music and event management.

Little did Amitabh imagine when ABCL brought the glittering Miss World Pageant to Bangalore in 1996 that the extravaganza would prove to be a millstone round his neck, leading to losses running into crores of rupees.

The picture captured by lensman Eshwar Durga has Amitabh standing up on his chair with child-like enthusiasm, addressing a press conference at the Vidhana Soudha in the Garden City during the pageant.

Yes, it was a matter of pride for India to be hosting such a grand show with 88 contestants from across the globe, but it turned out to be a major setback for Amitabh and his company. Again, this was just the tip of the iceberg. Other ABCL ventures too sank without a trace and the firm was eventually declared ‘sick’ by the Indian Board for Industrial and Financial Reconstruction.

The seemingly indefatigable Amitabh had been reduced to a near-bankruptcy situation. While the millennium revived the star’s fortunes and he rose, phoenix-like from the ashes, by his own admission, it was his conscience and the fact that he owed More >

MUMBAI MIRROR (May 7, 2013)

Our lensman Raju Shelar captured Imran Khan and Kareena Kapoor shooting for Gori Tere Pyar Mein at Film City, Goregaon. An entire village had been recreated with a rope bridge hanging atop a lake. The scene has Kareena crossing the bridge and going over to the other side, from where she calls out to Imran, who seems rather scared of following suit.
