If all goes well, Shakira will play the goddess Kaali in an Indian film called Kaali- The Warrior Goddess.
The film will be produced by Karan Arora, CEO of High Ground Entertainment Ltd.

Confirming Shakira’s presence in the project, Arora told Mumbai Mirror, “Shakira is on board. She has agreed in principle. She has said yes when my co-producer met her. But she is yet to sign on the dotted line. The money is being worked out quickly,” he added.
Why Shakira, we asked? Why shouldn’t an Indian actress play Kaali? Explained Arora, “We wanted someone dusky and Shakira is dusky. Besides, we wanted an international star.”

Sonal Chawla (MUMBAI MIRROR; September 14, 2010)
Sanjay Dutt and wife Manyata Dutt had a triple celebration at their house on Saturday night. Apart from hosting a dinner for Eid and celebrating Ganpati, Mr and Mrs Dutt also held a birthday bash for Priya Dutt’s husband, Owen Roncon.
Seems the brother-sister have patched up after reportedly having a fall-out. There were strong rumours about Sanjay contesting elections for the Samajwadi Party; his sister Priya Dutt is from the Congress Party and this caused significant tension between the siblings. They also learnt about his marriage to Manyata through media reports, and were not initially happy about their brother’s choice of spouse.Sanjay Dutt with sisters– Priya Dutt (l) and Namrata (r)
A source close to the family reveals, “Tiffs and arguments are a part and parcel of every relationship. There were minor differences between the family and they were distant from each other. The source continues, “There was a grand dinner and close friends and family were a part of the celebration. Manyata and Priya, who were rumoured to have differences, shared warm vibes. More >
The scuffle took place because Ashish allegedly dropped a drink on Sohail’s sister Arpita
Vickey Lalwani (MUMBAI MIRROR; September 14, 2010)
Sohail Khan, superstar Salman Khan’s youngest brother, and builder Ashish Raheja nearly came to blows at Olive bar in Khar, a famed hangout for Bollywooders, models and socialites, on Thursday night last week.
Sohail Khan was seated at his table with his sisters-in-law, Amrita and Mallaika, while a table adjacent to his was occupied by his sister Arpita.
A few minutes later, Ashish Raheja came in and settled at a table next to Arpita’s. His entourage allegedly grew bigger and louder as the night proceeded, and, at one point, Ashish allegedly even dropped his drink on Arpita by mistake.
Says an eyewitness, “Ashish dropped his drink on Arpita’s dress. When Arpita questioned him about his behaviour, Ashish caught hold of her face and told her that he can buy her family out. An altercation thus followed between Sohail, who stepped in, and Ashish. There was a big commotion at Olive, following which Ashish was asked to leave the premises.”
When contacted, Sohail Khan confirmed the story. When we asked Sohail if he beat up Ashish, he replied, “No, I did not. Dhakka-dhukki hui bas.” However, on pressing further, he gave us some details on how the flash point was reached. “At first I let it pass. However, when Arpita got very uncomfortable with Ashish’s entourage dancing around her table, I was More >
Kiran Rao was completely in control, leading her two gown-clad actresses, Monica Dogra and Kriti Malhotra
Uma Da Cunha (MUMBAI MIRROR; September 14, 2010)
The first day of the Toronto festival saw the evening screening of Dhobi Ghat at the city’s elegant and old world Elgin Theatre. Tickets, sold out well ahead, were being bartered in black. The cast and crew arrived late for their red carpet parade, which alarmed even the unflappable co-director of the festival and selector of Indian films, Cameron Bailey, waiting to receive them. The reason? Aamir Khan’s car and later he himself were mobbed en route.
The packed hall awaiting the film’s entourage started with the usual star-struck frenzy, with loud hoots and whistling and shrieks of “I love you, Aamir”. Then came Cameron Bailey’s introduction on stage of the film’s representatives. Kiran Rao, completely in control, led her two unknown female leads, Monica Dogra and Kriti Malhotra, whose stunning presence in long elegant gowns hugging their lissome figures brought about a hush.
A subdued Prateik Babbar accompanied them. Thundering applause broke out as Aamir Khan took the mic. He was all light humour, saying that he fell in love all over again with his wife when he read her extraordinary script and how he had to fight his way into being cast by her.
The audience was cosmopolitan even with its vocal Indian component. Surprisingly they watched the film in taut silence. They got More >

Prithwish Ganguly | TNN (BOMBAY TIMES; September 24, 2010)
Another bitchy fight has erupted in the Indian television industry and Navjot Singh Sidhu and Anu Malik are now not seeing eye-to-eye. There is a big cold war going on between them on Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega on Sony TV right from the day Sidhu was included. What started off as a friendly nudge to outsmart the other on the show to hog more popularity has certainly gone out of hand. An informer from the channel confirmed to us about the internal fight even though both Anu and Sidhu were unreachable. There’s buzz that Navjot, who’s come for a few episodes might stay on till the end. So what’s the real reason behind the cold war? Does it have to do with the monies… is one judge being paid more than the other? Hmmm…

Is it to do with her ‘car-nama’ with Ranbir?
Meena Iyer | TNN (BOMBAY TIMES; September 14, 2010)
Siddharth Anand has always had a penchant for cars. Friends say he grew up fantasising about automobiles. And, he knew the day he made it big, the first thing he would do is buy a himself fancy pair of wheels. Sure enough, after the success of his Saif Ali Khan-Preity Zinta film Salaam Namaste, the director kept his promise to himself. Siddharth’s funda is simple — “You are what you drive.”
Once again, when it came to writing the script for the Sajid Nadiadwala-Eros International’s Anjaana Anjaani, co-produced by Krishika Lulla, Siddharth was very sure about the car he wanted Priyanka Chopra to drive around in. Priyanka plays Kiara in the film and her car ‘Blush’ had to have all the attributes that she, Kiara had.
Why? Said a source, “It so happens that Blush is the only close friend that Kiara has in New York. Besides Kiara is all messed up on the inside and needs a good push to move ahead in life.’’
Siddharth was very clear that the ‘casting’ of the car was as important as the casting of his lead pair, Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka. His instruction to the production team was: “The car has to speak to me.’’ And, after going through hundreds of options, the Anjaana Anjaani director finally settled for pretty little Blush, a vintage Cadillac. Of course, Blush’s journey was not a path of roses. Besides the Big Apple, the car was needed More >

It was way back in 1999 when Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna were paired as a couple in two hardcore action films International Khiladi and Zaalim. They were married after a couple of years and subsequently Twinkle too retired as an actor with Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega and Jodi No. 1 being her last two releases in 2001.
However, the pair is now back again for a film and that too as a real life couple. It would be for Tees Maar Khan and the director who has managed to accomplish the ‘feat’ is Farah Khan. Ok, so before one’s imaginations start running wild, here is the real deal. The sequence that has been shot is the mandatory aspect of Farah’s films where entire cast and crew members are introduced to the audience.
Informs a source, “It is customary for every cast and crew member, howsoever small he may be in the ranks, to enjoy his moment of glory in Farah’s films. It was seen earlier in Main Hoon Naa as well as Om Shanti Om. Something similar happens in Tees Maar Khan too where everyone comes together for this sequence.”
Since Twinkle Khanna would be credited as a producer for Tees Maar Khan (Akshay Kumar’s ‘Hari Om Productions’ is producing the film in collaboration with Farah & Shirish’s production house ‘Three’s Company’), it was imperative that she comes out of her hibernation and faces the camera. The shooting for this sequence took place on Saturday with the picturisation taking place on both Twinkle More >
