AIYYAA opened poorly at 15-20% and the did not show much improvement. The collections were very bad in in the North and will find it difficult to make a mark at the box office.

BHOOT RETURNS also had a dull opening of 10-15% and it seems the film has little chance of any improvement. The film had the widest release of the films released this week.

Both AIYYAA and BHOOT RETURNS collected around 1.35-1.40 crore on Day 1.

MAKKHI opened with 5-10% collections. The dubbed blockbuster film from the South has found no takers in its Hindi version. The collections in North India multiplexes were horrendous. The film will pick up as it can’t get any lower and reports are best out of all the new films. But its tough for the film to go anywhere from such low levels.

The rest of the new releases – CHITTAGONG, PREM MAYEE, LOGIN and IN THE NAME OF TAI – too had disastrous openings.
