TARAN ADARSH’S TWEETS:

BARFI business is outstanding. Despite the fact that the release was tiny [as compared to some of the biggies that were opened really wide in India], the Week 1 figures are at par with some of the biggest openers. In terms of business, the film packed a solid punch in its opening weekend and showed minimal decline on weekdays. Collected Rs 58.6 crore nett in Week 1. Breakup:-
Friday 9.2 crore
Saturday 11.5 crore
Sunday 13.9 crore
Monday 6.5 crore
Tuesday 6 crore
Wednesday 7.25 crore
Thursday 4.25 crore [business affected due to Bandh]

RAAZ 3 got hit by the BARFI wave at multiplexes, but remained steady at single screens. Collected Rs 14.78 crore nett in Week 2, taking the 2-week total to Rs 70.07 crore nett. The business on Thursday was affected due to Bandh. Blockbuster, in view of the nominal costs on one hand and the revenue generated from India theatrical + Satellite + Music + Overseas biz on the other

BOX OFFICE INDIA’S VERSION:

BARFI had a fantastic first week collecting around 57.50 crore nett and the film held up exceptionally on the weekdays.

The film was strong on its eighth day as it collected around 3.25 crore nett. The drop is 60% and the norm has been around 70% for some of the biggest hits this year. The film has now collected close to 61 crore nett in eight days.

Mumbai, Delhi/UP, East Punjab, West Bengal and Mysore are contributing a lot for the film though in mass centres the film is performing poorly.

Despite a film like HEROINE being released which was heavily promoted, BARFI was large unaffected especially in multiples areas where it is strong. The film should see a good jump over the weekend on Saturday and Sunday.

RAAZ 3 fell in its second week collecting 13 crore nett and taking its two week total to nearly 65 crore nett. The drop in week two was around 75% and this film is likely to finish at around 70 crore nett. The film is a super hit all over India. SUPER HIT
