Parag Maniar (BOMBAY TIMES; August 19, 2012)

Boman Irani, who plays the role of a lingerie shop salesman in Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi had quite an interesting run-in with a few ladies during the shoot of the film. A source tells us that the shop’s set looked so authentic that some women actually stepped in to buy lingerie. Says our source, “Some women walked in thinking it was a real lingerie shop. They started looking at the lingerie on display there and began making inquires about it!”

It was only after they saw Boman, Farah Khan and the crew members that they realised it was a film set. “When they saw the crew members putting the equipment in place, they realised that it wasn’t a real shop.” Reminiscing about the incident, Boman says, “The lingerie shop looked pretty real to me too. When I saw a few ladies walk in, I fooled around with them saying, ‘May I help you madam?’ They were taken aback… and just turned red in the face.” Farah said, “The set was so nice that anybody could’ve been mistaken. I wasn’t surprised when the ladies entered thinking it was a real shop.”

Produced by Eros International and Bhansali Productions, and directed by Bela Bhansali Sehgal, Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi releases worldwide on August 24.
