You don’t need to shed clothes to look sexy-Sonakshi Sinha
Sonakshi Sinha talks about her boyish-banters, girly traits and hunt for her rowdy Romeo
Madhureeta Mukherjee (BOMBAY TIMES; June 21, 2012)
She fires like a true ‘shotgun’ – bluntly, boldly and bravely. Sonakshi Sinha might be the new ‘rowdy’ in town, but dig deeper and you’ll realize she’s still the ‘chulbuli’ Rajjo. Read on…
Akshay’s rowdy act has certainly worked, but between the two of you, who’s rowdier in real life?
“I think he’s rowdier than me, in fact, he treated me like a boybuddy on the sets. He punched me and pushed me around. All the lady-like charm went down the drain when the cameras were off. I became one of the guys. I was even called ‘bhaisaab’!”
Who’s more bindass between Akshay and Salman?
“Both are a lot of fun to work with. Akshay is a total Punjabi munda, he doesn’t have starry airs. He’s like a back-slapping buddy. Salman and I have a great equation, I knew him as a family-friend before ‘Dabangg’; he’s a very good friend.”
But he was apparently upset with you because you were spilling secrets from the sets of ‘Dabangg 2’…
“People just like to make up sensational stories because it makes for good gossip. There was no truth to that story; I know what to say and when to say it. Besides, ‘Dabangg 2’ is as much my film as it is Salman’s.”
You’ve apparently made-up with Katrina…
“We never had a fallout to make-up.”
You apparently said you’re the real desi girl, but are you planning a makeover soon?
“My desi image obviously comes from the fact that I’ve stuck to those roles. With ‘Rowdy Rathore’ (Bihari), ‘Dabangg’ (UP girl), ‘Lootera’ (Bengali) and ‘Son Of Sardaar’ (Punjabi), I’ve covered almost all states of India! At the end of the day, I believe one doesn’t have to shed clothes to look sexy!”
You recently said that your prototype was such that you weren’t finding the right boy…
“Ha, ha… what I meant was that I’m very finicky about the kind of man I want to be with. He should have a good heart, a great sense of humour and must be taller than me.”
How did you manage to dodge Ranveer’s charming moves while shooting for ‘Lootera’?
“I’m a thorough professional on the sets. We have a good working rapport, but I know how to keep charming men at bay.”
