After working non-stop these past months – on both Bol Bachchan and Son of Sardaar – actor Ajay Devgn will finally be taking a few days off before starting work on his next film. And insiders reveal that he may be taking off on a family vacation to the US sometime soon.
On his return, the actor will plunge head-on into shooting for Sajid Khan’s Himmatwala remake. The director, however, reveals that the film is not a straight lift of the Jeetendra-starrer, but a completely different take on that film. “It’s completely rewritten,” says Sajid. And while the director is excited about visiting one of his favourite films from behind the camera this time, he says that he’s equally thrilled about working with Ajay for the first time. “I think he’s one of the best performers of the industry, plus he has a great comic timing, so yes I am quite excited about working with him,” adds Sajid.
Even as he is all praises for Ajay, the director also waves aside all rumours of a fall-out with Akshay Kumar, with whom he has worked so far. “Akshay already has a busy year ahead and I didn’t want to wait, besides we have never signed any contract of working together always na? He is a good friend personally and professionally we’ll team up again soon. Also I had wanted to work with Ajay for a long time now,” explains Sajid.
As for making Ajay dance a la Jeetendra, he says that the actor will be dancing, but in his own style. “Ajay will bring his own style to the film,” he says. Talking about the film, Ajay says that it’s a film that he has always enjoyed watching. “Jeetuji was fabulous in the film,” he says. “Sajid has given it an interesting take and it will be a full-on entertainer, so even I am looking forward to starting work on it soon,” adds Ajay. About his upcoming Bol Bachchan, the actor reveals that it’s always fun working with Abhishek Bachchan. Incidentally, Ajay has worked with all the three Bachchans in the past – Aishwarya, Abhishek and Amitabh, in fact, in Khakee, Ajay was seen on screen with both Ash and Amitabh. Point it out to him and Ajay says that all the three have a common trait and that’s their professionalism.
“Besides being really nice people, all are extremely professional, so it’s always a joy working with them,” shares the actor.
