Salman told me nothing is bigger than TV-Karanvir Bohra

He had quit TV when he was at the peak of his career. Actor Karanvir Bohra who’s returns now, talks to Neha Maheshwri
BOMBAY TIMES (September 10, 2011)
I had never bid adieu to TV. I did two dance reality shows after Kasautii Zindagii Kay wrapped up but for fiction shows I had some conditions. I wouldn’t become a part of an ongoing show and I wouldn’t replace anyone. Most important to me was the freedom to style my character the way I wanted it. I had offers but one or the other condition of mine wasn’t met. Unfortunately, male actors are limited to playing either chocolate boy or spoilt brat. The new show that I have agreed to be a part of has me essay a challenging, difficult and exciting role.
Is it true that you took this show on at Salman Khan’s insistence?
I wasn’t sure of returning to TV after a three-and-a-half-year long gap. The other day when I was at Salman’s house, he suddenly asked me why I’m not doing TV, adding that if there is an offer, I should take it up immediately. The next day I sealed the deal.
It is often believed that actors return to TV after they have flopped in Bollywood?
I don’t believe in this norm. I love the art and not the medium. I want to be known for my uniqueness and body of work. I wouldn’t quit television tomorrow because my movie is a hit. I am ready to go wherever this art takes me.
Lastly, aren’t you planning to go the family way anytime soon?
I am still a child. My wife Teejay is busy pampering me. I can have extreme mood swings and the poor thing is mostly occupied calming me. So, I guess there is still time before she is prepared to take care of another baby.
