Where Bollywood Comes Alive
No abusive dialogues and steamy scenes in Vishal Bharadwaj’s next
MUMBAI MIRROR; February 26, 2010

Those who are waiting for a dialogue akin to “Toh kya maine tumhara rape kiya tha?” which Sweety (Priyanka Chopra) yells at Guddu (Shahid Kapoor) in Kaminey, might be in for a slight disappointment while watching Vishal Bhardwaj’s next Saat Khoon Maaf starring Priyanka.
The maverick Bhardwaj is in the mood for some normalcy. Much unlike his earlier films Omkara, Kaminey and Ishqiya, all of which had some rather bold scenes and dialogue, Saat Khoon Maaf won’t have any attention grabbing scenes.
While the talking point of Kaminey was the lovemaking scene between Shahid and Priyanka, what set Ishqiya apart from other films was its rustic and abusive dialogue.
A source says, “Saat Khoon Maaf is a film about Priyanka and her seven husbands. Being a Vishal Bhardwaj film, one would expect it to have a healthy dose of bold dialogue and sexually explicit scenes. However, Vishal has decided to have his characters speak in a cool, calm and collected manner in his next film.”
“Vishal does not want to deviate from the subject by showing intimacy between Priyanka and the actors. While writing the script, some suggested to Vishal that he should have at least two intimate scenes but he plainly refused. Whatever is required by the script will be included but one need not go overboard. Though Priyanka kills all her seven husbands, at no point is Vishal making her behave violently,” adds the source.
A source close to Vishal confirmed the news.
